Anxiety & trauma therapy for women in Waco, Texas.
Therapy for the woman who holds it together for everyone except herself.
Are you an adult women who feels anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in your head, even when things look “fine” on the outside? I’ve get it. Many of the women I work with are extremely capable, and can manage all the things, but are extremely hard on themselves. They’re tired of carrying so much.
The constant worrying is exhausting. The relationships feel confusing or emotionally draining. You’ve spent years adapting to others and don’t know who you are anymore. What you’re feeling makes sense. You don’t have to keep everything together on the inside while trying to look fine on the outside. Anxiety, people-pleasing, and self-doubt often come from patterns your mind and body have developed to protect you, but they don’t feel protective anymore. When you start to feel safer in your body and more certain of yourself, anxious thoughts and tension tend to ease, and it becomes easier to show up in your life and in your relationships.
Hi, I’m Joy.
If you appear capable and put-together on the outside, while internally feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or not yourself, I’m here to help.
You don’t need a trauma diagnosis to work with me. Many of my clients come to therapy because they can’t relax, or are tired of holding everything together. Therapy with me is a safe place to finally put words to what’s been happening inside your mind and body. We’ll pay attention to patterns, stress responses, and the ways your mind and body have learned to cope over time. If needed, we will use EMDR to process traumatic, painful memories.
My approach is compassionate, caring, and collaborative. It’s not a one size fits all type of therapy. I care about creating a space that feels supportive where change happens and you can feel better about yourself and your life.

Feel anxious, on edge even when things seem “fine”

Feel pressure to do things “just right”
Put other people’s needs first and can’t say no
Feel like your thoughts just won’t slow down
Want to heal past wounds that keep replaying in your mind
How we can work together
If anxiety, self-doubt, or trauma responses have been affecting your daily life, there are a few ways we can begin working together depending on what feels right for you.
Some people prefer ongoing weekly therapy for steady support and deeper processing over time. Others benefit from more focused, structured intensives when they’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for a reset in a shorter amount of time.
Both options are grounded in the same approach: understanding your nervous system, working with patterns that keep you stuck, and helping you feel more grounded, calm, and connected to yourself again. The best starting point depends on your needs, your pace, and what feels most supportive right now.
