Trauma Therapy for Teen and Young Adult Women in Waco, Texas.
You are not what has happened to you. Things can get better.
Imagine something really intense and unexpected happening all of a sudden. It happens, and it can mess with your head, emotions, and how you see yourself. You've been through something scary, and overwhelming. Maybe it was an assault, a serious accident, losing someone close to you, or witnessing something violent. Whatever it was, it turned your world upside down.
You might have nightmares, continue to think about the event, or feel jumpy. These symptoms are your brain's way of trying to process something that was not normal. Some days, just getting out of bed feels like climbing a mountain. Some days you'll make progress, and other days you'll feel like you're going backwards. Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of your life. You’re stronger than you realize.
You don't have to carry this weight alone. Let’s work on this together.
Let’s get you back to loving life.

I use a technique called EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) to help process painful memories. This involves a series of eye movements that are thought to help the brain file the memory in the right place in your brain. It’s not hypnosis, but it does take the pain out of the memory. It doesn’t take the memory away.
